7 Happy Hours for $7 in Rittenhouse
A winter favorite, A Bar + Kitchen offers a happy hour from 4-6 PM daily, including an intimate and hella cozy setting. The menu is seasonal and rotates about quarterly; you can always count on some form of cheese and salty snack on the happy hour menu. There is a great red and white wine selection as well as cocktails and brews. When you’re done with happy hour, roll next door to their sister restaurant, A Kitchen, and get a full course meal.
V Street -
Don’t get discouraged by V Street’s “vegan” label; these folks know what they’re doing with ingredients. All food items are FIVE freakin’ dollars. The Dan Dan Noodles are a house special. When their langos make an appearance on the menu, order them (and order multiple). From cocktails to vino, V Street takes you on a flavorful and street food journey for a mere $10-15 per person.
If you’re looking for a casual happy hour spot with a communal setting (or place to seat a group), Pizzeria Vetri is a solid selection. From $5 draft wine and $4 beer to $10 pies and (drum roll, please) $3 rotolos, this place offers something for everyone to enjoy. Also, do not skimp on the vanilla soft serve. Go bold and make it an affogato.
Located conveniently next to our office on Walnut, Alma de Cuba offers a happenin’ happy hour from 4-7 PM. You’ll find $6 bebidas ranging from mojitos to mules to margaritas and $2-7 snacks ranging from empanadas to ceviche. Grab a pal. Grab a seat. Grab a pitcher. While the lighting in here is dim, the service, atmosphere, and overall value shines #juxtapositionwin #jkjk.
This place is bursting at the seams by 5:30 PM, so be sure to get there early and camp out until your friends arrive (but don’t be that person who reserves multiple chairs… share the wealth, folks). We love the lamb meatballs and the whipped ricotta. When you’re done, head downstairs to the speakeasy, Elbow Lane. Of all the Schulson Collective restaurants, Harp and Crown is one of our favorites.
While Spice Finch is the new kid on the block, it cranks out food and flavors like it has been in business for years. From 4-6 PM, Monday through Thursday (with an extended happy hour from 3-6 PM on Fridays), the happy hour is substantial. You’ll find specials on select drinks and nibbles like yogurt dip flavored with garlic and harissa crisps, chicken kebabs, and shishitos.
Jonesing for a midday mixed drink? Bar Bombom gets the party started at 3 PM Monday through Friday! Until 6 PM, enjoy authentic cuban favorites like guacamole, plantains, hearts of palm ceviche, buffalo cauliflower tacos, and tostones. In addition to food, Bar Bombon offers mezcal, margaritas, and mixed drinks. This place is pretty compact; we do not recommend it for large groups.
